Tim Tam

A friend who’s working in Australia has been raving about Tim Tam for a while now, but I just didn’t see what the fuss was all about…..until I tried one. And it was absolutely lovely!

Tim Tam is two chocolate biscuits joined together by a fluffy creamy filling, then coated in a thin layer of milk chocolate. The biscuits blend so well with the chocolate and filling that they actually have more of a chocolate rather than a biscuit aftertaste.

There’s a nice crunch to the biscuits, and a hint of caramel too.

The two flavors available at my local store were Original and Chewy Caramel. I got the Original since it was on sale. Haha. The regular price was $3.99 but it was selling for $2.99.

There are 11 biscuits in a pack. I was sort of expecting an even number count though. Perfect when sharing with someone. Anyhoo…

To complete the Tim Tam experience, I also did the traditional Tim Tam Slam. It’s da bomb!

Basically, Tim Tam Slam is sucking a hot drink with a Tim Tam and shoving the biscuit in your mouth before it falls apart. First, you bite off the opposite corners. Submerge one end in your drink, then suck the drink through the biscuit (pretty much as you would with a straw). Once you feel the drink, quickly put the Tim Tam in your mouth.

The hot drink softens the biscuits and melts the filling and coating, all of which ‘explodes’ in your mouth!

It’s not a pretty sight, I must warn. And messy too. But it’s soo good!

Rich, scrumptious, tasty little goodies from the land down under, Tim Tam is definitely a must-try for every chocolate lover!
