This sponge cake I got from a friend was a nice change to the sweet cakes I’ve been having lately.
It reminds me of the cakes back home that I usually have on my birthday —– soft, light, airy.
Perfect with coffee or tea! Yum!
Jos. Louis is a Vachon cake and one of Canada’s beloved snacks. It’s a tasty treat consisting of two round chocolatey sponge cake with vanilla-flavored cream filling sandwiched between.
Interestingly, Jos. Louis was named after the sons of the founder-bakers Arcade and Rose-Anna Vachon —– Joseph and Louis.
The Swiss roll’s packaging was different from that of the mixed fruit jam and cocoa cream, so I thought the cake must be special. It must be better and more delicious. Dark chocolate flakes and milk-cocoa cream —– mmm, heavenly!
Not! Disappointingly, it had the same dry texture and alcohol aftertaste.
