Chongga Kimchi

Kimchi is a traditional Korean pickled side dish that is said to be rich in vitamins and aids in digestion.

I remember having my first taste of kimchi at a local Korean fastfood chain and not liking it one bit. But I also remember later eating it at a Korean friend’s house and loving every morsel of it! I guess who makes it counts. A lot!

Now I usually go buy at the local Asian store whenever I have a craving.

One of the kimchi brands I like is Chongga. It has a nice deep flavor and the right amount of spiciness! A small plastic jar lasts me only a week!

I really should learn how to make it, but I heard it’s a pretty laborious and time-consuming process. But maybe I just might. Someday. 😛

Bamboo Shoots

This bottle of young bamboo shoots was on sale at an Asian store, and instinct told me I’d like it so I bought two. And boy was it delicious!

In fact, I had it with every meal for the first week or so, either with plain rice or with some other viand.

From its color one might think it’d be very spicy, but it isn’t. Its ‘spicyness’ is just right to give it a little zing.
